Distinctive Alerting
Allows your
telephone line to have up to three (3) telephone numbers assigned to the same
telephone line.
Each has its own unique ringing
pattern. The subscriber can determine
for whom a call is intended by the sound of the ringing pattern. The subscriber must have an existing telephone
service on the same premises to be eligible for this option. The subscriber must pay for an additional
listing to have the second and/or third numbers published because the numbers
are assigned to only one line.
Separate lines into the same premise may
also be eligible for Distinctive Alerting in order to determine which line the
call is originating from. The numbers
cannot be used concurrently.
Example:
John Doe 475-0000 2 Long Rings
Teenline 475-0001 2 Short Rings
Doe Business 475-0002 Short Long
All telephone numbers are assigned to ring
at John Doe’s residence – on the same phone.
