Whether it’s internet, phone, cameras, or streaming TV with your WRT Wi-Fi, we keep the Dakotas connected.
Founded in 1952 as West River Telephone by local farmers, WRT began with a grassroots effort to bring telephone service to rural North Dakota. Over time, technology advanced, and so did WRT, with milestones such as one-party voice service upgrades in the 1970s and digital switching equipment in the 80s and 90s. As society evolved with cellular phones, satellite TV, and the internet, WRT expanded its services. Today, WRT serves a larger area with faster speeds, keeping communities and customers more connected than ever.
WRT continues to invest in infrastructure to provide high-quality services, meeting and exceeding members' needs while offering advanced internet technology at affordable rates for small businesses.
WRT is proud to be a part of our local communities, supporting them through customer appreciation feeds at area games, donations to community organizations, and active employee involvement. Our employees give back by participating in the WRT Employee Give Back program at work and volunteering for various organizations and events. WRT also awards eight $2,000 scholarships each year to support local students in their pursuit of higher education, available to members or their children. We are dedicated to enhancing the areas we serve, including community schools, members, and businesses. For more information on WRT’s community involvement, the regions we support, or available scholarships, please check out WRT’s Service Area & District Map.
